Cocoa doesn’t have to be that instant stuff you add water to and stir that we’ve all gotten used to! These delightfully devilish cocoa recipes will warm your soul and show your lover how special you think they are! Warm cocoa, soft romantic lighting, and some Passion extras are the perfect way to set the mood on a cold winter’s night!
Here’s two recipes for you to choose from:
1/3 cup unsweetened baking cocoa powder
1/2 cup sugar
3 cups milk
1/3 cup water
1/3 cup liquor (Use your favorite such as Brandy, Grande Marnier, Chocolate, Kahlua, or Ameretto)
Pinch cayenne pepper
Whipped cream (the REAL stuff in the can works fine, or whip up some whipping cream or heavy cream with a little sugar and a splash of vanilla till it forms soft peaks)
Bring water to a boil in a saucepan and immediately add cocoa, sugar, cayenne and salt. Whisk until well blended. Add milk and reduce heat. Continue stirring for one minute (do not allow milk to boil or it may curdle).
Remove from heat and add chocolate liquor. Pour into large mugs and top with whipped cream.
Optional: Dust with cinnamon and nutmeg and enjoy with your passion partner!
Or you can try this original version of “Hot Chocolate”:
2 cups milk
4 ounces bittersweet chocolate chips
2 ounces milk chocolate (use carrot peeler and shave from chocolate bar, reserving some of the shavings for garnish)
1 ounce of liqueur such as Brandy, Grande Marnier, Kahlua, Amaretto, or Chocolate
few grains of salt
small dash of cinnamon
Whipped cream (the REAL stuff in the can works fine in either regular or chocolate flavor, or whip up some whipping cream or heavy cream with a little sugar and a splash of vanilla till it forms soft peaks)
In small pan, heat 1 cup of milk with both kinds of chocolate stirring until chocolates are all melted. Whisk in rest of milk with the salt and dash of cinnamon and heat till warmed through but not boiling. Divide into 2 large mugs and top with the whipped cream and garnish with reserved chocolate shavings.
Use any leftover whipped cream to get the passion going with your partner!
